Saga Robotics Appoints Caine Thompson as U.S. General Manager and Adds Strategic AgTech Investor
Saga Robotics has announced the appointment of Caine Thompson as General Manager for its United States operations effective January 2026. The leadership expansion supports the company’s accelerating commercial deployment of autonomous vineyard robotics across California.
The company’s Thorvald robotic platform is currently active on more than 1300 acres of vineyards in California and is expected to significantly expand its treated acreage during the 2026 growing season. The system delivers autonomous UV C treatment services designed to reduce or replace conventional fungicide use while supporting regenerative viticulture practices.
In addition to strengthening U.S. leadership, Saga Robotics confirmed the addition of Xinomavro, a wine industry focused AgTech investment fund, as a new strategic investor. The investment strengthens the company’s capital base as demand for chemical free disease control solutions continues to grow across premium wine regions.
